ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. –
The Eckerd College Volleyball team fought to hold off an aggressive Rollins College team, but the Tars would walk away with the win in straight sets on Friday evening, 3-0 (28-26, 25-19, 25-23).

Eckerd students were out in full force for the match, sporting their white shirts for a "whiteout." The Eckerd College Student Athlete Advisory Committee planned the event to help benefit Clothes to Kids, a non-profit partnering organization in St. Petersburg.

In the first set, Eckerd (8-4, 2-2 SSC) led Rollins (12-3, 2-1 SSC) for majority of the set, taking its largest lead at 14-8. At 21-17, Rollins took four straight points with the help of two kills from senior Kelly Merideth and senior Camille Indest, a service ace from Jessica Wilson and a Triton attacking error.

The Tritons would not regain the momentum of the game again, and Rollins snuck away with a 1-0 lead.

Again in the third set, Eckerd pulled out with six-point, 21-15 lead, and Rollins would rally from behind for four straight points. Later the Tars would even the score and take the game on three consecutive Triton attacking errors and a setting error.

Senior Lindsay Biggs and junior Katarina Milojevic led the Tritons with 10 kills apiece. Junior Ali McAlvany followed close behind with nine.

Biggs also collected a team-high 13 digs in the loss.

Merideth and Indest led Rollins' campaign offensively. Merideth tabbed 12 kills, two block assists and one solo block, while Indest notched 11 kills and three block assists.

Junior libero Collyn Welsch also produced 30 digs in the win.

Eckerd returns to its home court again to play tomorrow afternoon in a conference match against No. 3 University of Tampa at 4 p.m. EST at McArthur Center.
