Box Score

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Four different players scored as Lynn University spread out its offense in recording a shutout against the Eckerd College women's soccer team in a Sunday afternoon tussle, 4-0.

Melissa Ortiz scored her 100th career point in the Fighting Knights' (5-1-1, 1-0 SSC) Sunshine State Conference debut and also added an assist. The Tritons (3-6, 0-2 SSC) experienced some struggles on offense while recording one shot in the match.

A 30-minute lightning delay saturated the field in the middle of the first half, but Lynn scored two minutes later after play resumed to add on to its lead.

LU's Lina Forsman put the game's first tally on the board in the 19th minute.

The Fighting Knights added their third goal of the first 45 minutes when Alison Ramsey scored unassisted before the break. She assisted Forsman's goal earlier in the game.

EC freshman goalkeeper Lauren Fernandez made 12 saves on Lynn's 22 total shots. Arielle Anahory fired the Tritons' lone shot on goal in the eighth minute of play.

The Tritons return home to continue conference play this week by hosting undefeated and No. 20 Saint Leo University on Thursday. The evening matchup is set to begin at 7 p.m. at the Turley Athletic Complex.
