SAINT LEO, Fla. – Saint Leo's Dustin Brown went 4-for-4 with two home runs and six RBIs to lead the Lions to an 8-4 victory over the visiting Eckerd College baseball team on Tuesday evening.
Brown hit a three-run home run in the first inning and added a solo shot in the third to lead Saint Leo (17-29).
The top of the lineup did the damage. The first four hitters in the Lion lineup combined for nine hits, eight RBIs and seven runs scored. Saint Leo tallied 12 hits overall.
David Regidor went 3-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs to pace the Tritons (17-29).
Alex Del Monte added two hits, three stolen bases and scored three runs.
Saint Leo jumped out to a 4-0 lead thanks to Brown, but Regidor cut the lead to 4-2 in the fourth with a two-run home run – his first blast of the year.
Leading 5-3, the Lions added two insurance runs in the seventh on Brown's two-run single.
The Tritons will wrap up the 2011 season this weekend with a three-game Sunshine State Conference series at Tampa. The teams will open the series at 6 p.m. on Friday.
