ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – No. 6 Rollins College (37-3, 13-1) completed their weekend sweep of Eckerd with two wins over the Tritons Saturday afternoon at the Turley Athletic Complex. Eckerd fell to Rollins 4-0 in game one before dropping the series finale 9-1.
The Tars were led by solid pitching performances from sophomore Kristin Frame (12-1) and freshman Amye McIntyre (8-1). Rollins junior Hope Bitzer went 3-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored.
Senior
Kirsten Cox recorded the lone RBI for the Tritons on Saturday in the bottom of the fourth inning in game two. Cox, along with sophomore
Meagan Camp and sophomore
Sarah Agnew, recorded hits on the day.
Junior
Alex Sasso went seven solid innings in the game-one loss. Sasso allowed only one earned run off of six hits.
