ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Christine Roser went 4-for-4 with four RBIs to lead No. 6 Rollins to a 17-0 win over the Eckerd College softball team on Friday evening.
Roser hit a solo home run in the first inning, and the Tars (35-2, 12-1 Sunshine State Conference) scored 14 runs in the final two frames to take the mercy-rule victory.
The Tritons (11-30, 0-13) were held to one hit, with
Sarah Agnew recording a double in the first inning.
The top three hitters in the Rollins lineup (Monica Meadows, Amber Pederson and Roser) combined for eight hits and seven runs scored.
The two teams will play a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
