BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Lynn University baseball team swept a doubleheader from visiting Eckerd College on Saturday afternoon.
After the hosts won the opener 6-2, Lynn's Kyle Radzewski went 2-for-3 with three RBIs to help the Fighting Knights to an 11-1 victory in the finale.
Lynn's 7-8-9 hitters combined for seven hits, four runs and four RBIs in the second game to help the Knights (24-19, 8-10 Sunshine State Conference) take two out of three in the weekend series.
In Game One, Lynn's Steven Fernandez went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Right-hander Jason Beaumont (7-2) tossed a complete game, scattering eight hits and allowing two runs (one earned). The junior struck out six.
Eight different Tritons tallied a hit in the opener, with
David Regidor and
Kevin Rea each recording RBI singles.
In the second game,
Alex Del Monte had an RBI double for Eckerd (16-25, 4-14).
The two teams combined to turn six double plays in the first game.
The Tritons will wrap up a nine-game road trip on Wednesday at Webber International. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m.
