Game 2 Box Score

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College softball team rallied throughout the night to take a doubleheader sweep over visiting Webber International on Wednesday at the Turley Athletic Complex.

Sarah Agnew's RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning capped a two-out rally, as the Tritons took a 5-4 win in the opener. Eckerd followed it up by scoring five runs in the fifth inning to come back for a 7-6 victory in the nightcap.

Agnew went 4-for-6 with two RBIs in the first game, and Chelsea Jeffares and Ashleigh Bynum each went 1-for-3 with two RBIs in Game Two, as the Tritons (7-11) swept a doubleheader for the second time this year.

Agnew finished the twinbill 5-for-9 with three RBIs, while Emma Docking had four hits and scored three runs.

Right-hander Alex Sasso (3-4) picked up the first-game win and got the final six outs to record her first save of the year.

In the first game – Eckerd's longest of the year – the Tritons were down 3-1 before scoring single runs in the fourth and fifth innings to tie it.

Both teams were shut down until the 11th, when Britttany Spencer (2-for-6, two RBIs) hit a two-out RBI single to give the Warriors a 4-3 lead.

The Tritons, though, took advantage of two errors in the bottom of the inning. Kirsten Coxground ball scored Meagan Camp to tie it, and Agnew won it two batters later with a line drive single to left.

In the second game, WIU (5-11) scored six runs in the fourth to grab a 6-2 advantage before the hosts put together six hits in the fifth to rally for the lead.

WIU finished the night with 24 hits, while the Tritons tallied 21.

Eckerd will return to action on Saturday with a 1 p.m. doubleheader at Ave Maria.
