ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd Tritons lack of shots on goal led to a 3-1 loss Sunday against North Alabama in the final game of the Eckerd Invitational.
North Alabama's Chloe Roberts scored a hat trick in the Lions victory.
The Lions out shot the Tritons 18-3; Eckerd tested North Alabama's keeper only once. The lone shot on goal led to a score in the 88th minute from senior midfielder Samantha Nichols.
The game was delayed 45 minutes due to lightning with 20 minutes left in the first half. Soon after the game resumed North Alabama went on the offensive, and did not look back.
The Tritons head Lakeland, Fla. next to open up conference play against Florida Southern on Sept. 15. Results will be posted on eckerdtritons.com.
