LAKELAND, Fla. - The Eckerd men's tennis squad were defeated by the Florida Tech Panthers, 5-0, Saturday afternoon at the Beerman Tennis Facilities, taking fifth place away from the Tritons in the Sunshine State Conference Tournament.
The Panthers swept the Tritons in doubles action, taking the No. 1 and No. 2 matches 8-4 and defeated the No. 3 Triton doubles team 8-2. Florida Tech was also victorious in two singles matches, winning in the No. 2 slot 6-4, 6-1, and then 6-3 in the No. 6 spot.
The Tritons end their season with a 7-11 overall record and a 2-4 conference record.
