Baseball Loses to Saint Leo, 10-2

, Fla. - Minervino Labrador went 3-for-4 but it was not enough as the Saint Leo Lions (13-12) defeated the Eckerd Tritons (14-7) by a score of 10-2 on Tuesday evening at the Turley Athletic Complex.

In the top of the first, Saint Leo took an early 1-0 lead when Ware Hart scored on a wild pitch with the bases loaded. The Lions expanded their lead to 4-0 three inning later with three runs on three hits, including RBI singles by Dustin Brown and Blake Turner. The Lions would break the game open in the fifth, with two more runs to make it 6-0.

Eckerd would eventually break through with a run in the bottom of the sixth on a sacrifice fly by Stephen Pelc.

Saint Leo starter Henry Johnson (3-0) earned the win while Eckerd's Jay Moroff (0-1) took the loss.

Eckerd will return to action on Friday, March 19 as it travels to Miami Shores, Fla. to battle the Barry Buccaneers in SSC action.
