ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College softball team split for the third time this season in their double-header against NAIA Webber International University (3-4) at the Turley Athletic Complex. Both games were thrillers, as Webber defeated the Tritons 2-1 in the first game, and Eckerd (3-3) coming back in the bottom of the fifth inning to bring the game into extra innings and defeating the Warriors 4-3 in the ninth.

The Warriors scored their first run in the fourth inning on an Eckerd error, tying up the game. Warrior Krystan Mahowald hit a home run over the left-center field fence in the top of the seventh inning to make the score 2-1. The Tritons attempted a come back after Kristen Torres' double and a base hit by Kristen Schurr to have runners on third and second, but WIU pitcher Kristen LeFan was able to sit down the side to make the final score 2-1.
Mackenzie Dawson took the hard loss for the Tritons, pitching seven innings, giving up 10 hits, two runs, walking one, and striking out one batter. Kolonick led the offense for the first game, going 2-for-3 with one run and two stolen bases.
The Warriors jumped out with the lead in the second game, scoring a total of three runs by fourth inning, one on an error and two on a Sam Mendello homerun.
