ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – The Eckerd College women's soccer team forced extra time on Friday before falling 1-0 against Lynn in Sunshine State Conference action at the Turley Athletic Complex.
Alison Ramsey scored in the 99th minute, just before the overtime period ended, as the Fighting Knights (4-3-1, 1-2 SSC) escaped with a league win.
Ramsey's shot got past Eckerd goalkeeper Kelly Zahorski, who kept the Tritons (1-9, 0-4) in the game with 10 saves. Lynn out-shot Eckerd 31-4, with the Knights recording 11 shots on goal.
The Tritons got shots on goal from Symone Stubbs and Amanda Ferrer.
Eckerd will continue a two-game homestand at 5 p.m. on Tuesday against Rollins College. The game is part of a doubleheader with the men's team.
