FLORENCE, Ala. - Hollie Loud scored two goals and the University of North Alabama women's soccer team recorded its fifth straight shutout as the Lions improved to 5-0 with a 4-0 win over Eckerd College at the UNA Soccer Field.
In running its defensive scoreless streak to 450 minutes, the Lions held Eckerd to just six shots and sophomore goalkeeper Alex McLay recorded two saves in getting her fourth shutout of the season.
The two teams battled on even terms until the 33:33 mark when Jamie Takala scored off an assist from Tassia Augusto. Adrienne Aragon then scored when a shot by Augusto bounced off the crossbar and Aragon put it in the back of the net.
That goal came at 38:43 to make it 2-0. The Lions then added their third goal in less than 10 minutes when Loud scored on a penalty kick to make it 3-0 at the 42:50 mark.
The final goal of the game came at 78:20 by Loud off an assist from Kelli Coffman.
Eckerd will return to action on Wednesday, September 8 as it hosts Webber International at 7pm.
