BOCA RATON, Fla. - Lynn pitcher Dan Wright stole the show to the tune of a complete game, five-hit shutout as his Knights (37-15, 13-9 SSC) defeated the Eckerd Tritons (22-30, 4-18 SSC) by a score of 5-0 on Friday afternoon at Lynn's McCusker Sports Complex. Wright would go on to strikeout seven Tritons while walking two.
The Knights took an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first after manufacturing a pair of runs, including an RBI fielder's choice by Daniel Flores. Lynn would tack on three more runs in the second via consecutive run-scoring doubles by Flores and Gabe MacDougall.
Wright did the rest for Lynn as he would shut down the Tritons' bats for the duration of the afternoon en route to the 5-0 victory.
Philip Weylie took the loss for Eckerd after going the distance and allowing just two earned runs.
Eckerd will resume its three-game series at Lynn on Saturday as it battles the Knights in SSC doubleheader action beginning at 12pm.
