DAVIE, Fla. - The Eckerd Tritons (17-26, 1-9 SSC) fell to the Nova Southeastern Sharks (38-10, 11-5 SSC) by a score of 6-0 on Friday evening at the AD Griffin Sports Complex. In the loss, NSU's Lexi Sarradet held the Tritons to just three hits and two walks in an eight-strikeout complete game shutout.
The Sharks got on the board in the bottom of the second on a run-scoring single by Dana Bergner. In the bottom of the third, NSU took advantage of three Triton errors to score five runs, four of which were unearned, to expand its lead to 6-0.
Alex Koronkiewicz took the loss for Eckerd after going three complete innings and allowing three earned runs.
Christina Hughes pitched three innings of one-hit ball in relief for Eckerd.
The Tritons will return to the diamond on Saturday, April 4 as it battles NSU in SSC doubleheader action beginning at 1pm.
