SAINT LEO, Fla - The Eckerd Tritons (20-34, 3-16 SSC) fell to the Saint Leo Lions (27-22, 6-12 SSC) by a score of 4-0 to open an SSC series on Tuesday evening at University Field.
Things got off to an inauspicious start for the Tritons as Elysha Agen led off the game with a homer to center field. The Lions would add two more runs in the first on a pair of run-scoring doubles by Ashley Urbanik and Brittany Yates.
Yates would add to the Lions' lead with a solo homerun in the sixth, making it 4-0.
That would be all the run support that Urbanik would require, as she would go on to toss seven shutout innings while allowing three hits and striking out 10 batters.
Mackenzie Dawson took the loss for the Tritons.
Eckerd will return to University Field on Wednesday, April 22 as it battles the Lions in SSC doubleheader action beginning at 6pm.
