SAINT LEO, Fla. – The Eckerd volleyball team rolled past Saint Leo in straight sets on Saturday, taking the match with set scores of 25-9, 25-18, and 25-16.

The Tritons wasted little time taking control in the opening frame. After an early 2-1 edge, Eckerd rattled off five straight points to stretch the lead to 7-1. The advantage continued to grow as back-to-back aces from Hayden Nash pushed the margin to 13-3. Eckerd hit .400 in the set while forcing Saint Leo into a negative hitting percentage on the way to a commanding 25-9 victory.

Saint Leo stayed close throughout much of the second set and held an 18-17 lead late in the frame. Nash evened the score with a kill before Seiler Hruska took over from the service line. Hruska delivered three consecutive aces as part of an 8-0 run to close the set. Jaelynn Tunley punctuated the run with three straight kills as Eckerd claimed the frame, 25-18.

The sides traded points early in the third set before Eckerd began to pull away. With the Tritons ahead 10-9, Hruska fired three straight aces during a four-point run to create separation. Eckerd later used a six-point burst to extend its lead to 22-12 before closing out the sweep, 25-16.

Eckerd controlled the contest from the service line, recording 13 aces while holding Saint Leo to just one. The Tritons also outhit the Lions .287 to .032 and held advantages in kills (37-23), blocks (7-3), and digs (44-33).

Nash led the Triton attack with 11 kills while hitting .625 and added five blocks and three aces. Hruska finished with eight kills, eight aces, and two blocks, while Tunley added nine kills on a .316 hitting percentage.

Grace Dumont directed the offense with 31 assists and added eight digs, while Sydney Williams paced the back row with 15 digs.

Eckerd returns to action on Friday when they visit No. 12 Lynn.
