LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Eckerd Trtions men's cross country team competed in its first race since the 2001 season on Saturday at the Swan City Classic hosted by Southeastern.
The Tritons had two runners competing in the 6k race and were led by first-year
Renn Telles, who clocked a time of 21:10.06 to finish inside the top 75.
Hugh Kuffner was the other Eckerd runner in the race, ending with a time of 24:55.3.
This marks the first race for the men's cross country program in 24 years. Started in 1967, the Tritons secured SSC titles in 1989 and 1992, and an individual SSC championship in 1993.
The team will be back in action next weekend for the HOKA Nights of Thunder meet in Tallahassee, Fla.Â
