CLEVELAND, Miss. — Ava Costa sent in a goal in the 89th minute on Friday to help lead the Ecker women's soccer team to a 1-1 draw with the Delta State Statesmen.
Delta State took the early advantage with a tally 20 minutes into the contest and held the one-goal differential through halftime.
Zoe Brasher collected five of her eight saves in the opening 45 minutes to help keep the Tritons within striking distance.

Macy Kay Bennett each managed shots on target for Eckerd.
The second half saw a tense back-and-forth between Eckerd and the Statesmen, with multiple fouls characterizing the early minutes. The Tritons defense continued to keep the Statesmen at a single goal before Costa scored the equalizing point for the Tritons with just over 60 seconds remaining in the contest. Neither team mustered an attempt in the final minute to conclude at the 1-1 score.
Eckerd put up 10 shots in the contest, with Costa and Aflenzer each registering two apiece.
The Tritons the season 0-0-1 and will travel to Memphis, Tenn. to face Christian Brothers on Sunday.
