CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. -- For the first time in program history, the Eckerd women's golf team is in the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) top 25 poll, checking in at No. 24 in the latest version released on Friday.
The Tritons are coming off a third-place finish at their home Eckerd Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, finishing as the top team out of five Sunshine State Conference opponents and ahead of four schools ranked in the top 16 in the latest poll. The Tritons finished behind a pair of schools both ranked in the top four nationally, with
Sophie Foulds earning third place overall after shooting 2-over par across the three rounds.
This week marks the first time the Tritons have ever appeared inside the top 25 nationally. The team has received votes on numerous occasions, with the most recent being the final week of the 2024-25 season.
The team will be back in action Oct. 6-7 at the St. Simons Intercollegiate.
