School-record 86 Tritons earn D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- An all-time best 86 Tritons were named recipients of the Division II Athletics Directors Association (ADA) Academic Achievement Award, the organization announced earlier this month.

The Academic Achievement Awards is a program that recognizes the academic accomplishments of student-athletes at the Division II level. The 86 selections for Eckerd is a record for the College, surpassing the previous mark of 56 set in 2021-22 and 2023-24. 

In order for a student-athlete to receive an Academic Achievement Award, the student-athlete must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college-level work, and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year. Only NCAA Division II-sponsored sports qualify for the award. Eckerd student-athletes in sailing were not eligible.

For the first time since the award's inception, more than 20,000 student-athletes were recognized with a total of 22,756. 

Men's soccer (14), women's soccer (12), and softball (10) had the most selections for the Tritons.
