Sandra Eriksson and
Melissa Ball have been selected for the NCAA South Regional on May 5-7. It is the third year in a row that Eckerd has had an individual selected for the South Regional, and the first time in program history two individuals are selected.
Eriksson and Ball are two of six individuals selected from the South Region, joining Loa Johannsson (Embry-Riddle), Reagan Padilla (Tusculum), Pennie Osterberg (Limestone), and Claudia Hastings (Limestone). 18 teams were selected from the South/Southeast Regions: Anderson, Wingate, Flagler, Lynn, Nova Southeastern, Rollins, Lee, North Georgia, Tampa, Saint Leo, Lander, Palm Beach Atlantic, Florida Southern, West Florida, Lincoln Memorial, Barry, Carson Newman, and Erskine.
Eriksson makes an appearance on the national stage for the second consecutive year. Last year, she tied for 12th overall at the tournament. She earns the top seed in 2025, after posting three top-10 finishes this year, highlighted by a seventh place finish at the SSC Championship two weeks ago. She ranks 58th nationally and 34th in the region with a 74.1 adjusted scoring average.
Ball makes her first appearance and is ranked 118th nationally and 65th in the region. She holds a 75.1 adjusted scoring average with two top 10 finishes this year.
