ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's basketball team breezed by Florida Tech, 77-58 at the McArthur Center on Saturday afternoon.
Eckerd was hot out the gates with a triple by Jaylen Ostenson in the opening minute. Eckerd and Tech swapped leads six times in the first quarter before the Tritons began to pull away at the 2:53 mark. Chance Bucher closed the quarter in emphatic fashion with a jumper at the buzzer off an offensive rebound for 20-12 lead after the first frame. A pair of free throws by Emma Egan gave Eckerd a double-digit advantage. Lisa Michaelsen and Ieva Korzane were both 2-for-2 from beyond the arc in the frame, with Korzane netting a three at the buzzer for a 49-25 lead at the intermission.
Eckerd kept the pressure on in the second half, maintaining at least a 20-point lead for the remainder of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Tritons worked all the way up to a 33-point advantage. Paloma Simon added seven points in the fourth quarter, closing the door on a dominant 77-58 victory.

- Korzane led the Tritons with 17 points. Egan, Ostenson, and Lisa Michaelsen rounded out double-digit scoring with 15, 12, and 12 points respectively.
- Egan flirted with a double-double, grabbing a team-leading eight boards. She also tacked on four assists.
- Carrollo led the team with six assists while Michaelsen added three blocks.
- Eckerd's defense limited Florida Tech to shoot 26 percent from the floor, while the Tritons shot 50 percent.
