MELBOURNE, Fla. -- Freija Aflenzer and
Madi Winn of the Eckerd women's soccer team have been named the Sunshine State Conference Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, the league announced Monday afternoon.
Aflenzer earned her first-ever SSC weekly award after posting the team's game-winning goal in the 83rd minute against Tampa on Saturday. She ended the week with the one goal scored and six shots, three of which were on target, across two games played.
Winn was named the SSC Defensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after posting her second and third conference shutout in a row. The Tritons defeated both Tampa and Lynn by a score of 1-0, with Winn collecting five combined saves between the two contests.
