Eckerd Drops Road Contest at Barry

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - The Eckerd men's basketball team dropped its road contest at Barry, 86-68, in Miami Shores to conclude the first half of SSC action. 

After swapping leads to start the game, the Buccaneers took the lead at the 15:11 mark. BU held between a one-to-two possession lead over the next eight minutes before pushing out to a nine-point favor. The Tritons cut their deficit to three just before intermission and trailed 41-34 heading into the break. 

Barry pushed its leads to double-digits early in the second half. Eckerd twice pulled back within single digits but was unable to complete the comeback as the Bucs cruised the rest of the game.

NOTES AND NUMBERS

• Isiaha Placide led Eckerd with a career-high 30 points, going 11-for-19 from the field. 
• Koa Baker added 14 points to round out the double-figure scorers. 
• Kent Garard led Eckerd on the boards with six. 
• Dante Bouchard and Kent Garard added two steals each. 
• Jordan Kwiecinski made his first start of the season, while Brady Patterson and Micah Pierce made their first career starts.
