ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's basketball team returned to the McArthur Center for the first time this season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Embry-Riddle, 86-66, as the Eagles used a strong final 10 minutes of the first half.
The Teams traded baskets inside the opening eight minutes, with the Eagles holding a slight lead. ERAU went on a 16-6 run over a six-minute stretch to tackle a 32-19 favor at the 4:35 mark. The Eagles stretched their lead to 18 at intermission, 46-28.
Embry-Riddle pushed its lead to 22 to start the second half. Eckerd responded with seven straight points to cut its deficit to 15 at the 15:10 mark. Eckerd kept Embry-Riddle off the board for the next four minutes before the Eagles used an 11-2 to take a 24-point lead. The Eagles stayed in front the rest of the way for the win.
