ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team took the first set over No. 4 Wayne State (Neb.), but the Wildcats rallied to take the match, 3-1, on the second day of the Eckerd Classic at the McArthur Center on Saturday afternoon.
EC opened the match on a 6-1 run to force a WSC timeout. A Kinga Michalska kill gave Eckerd a 16-10 favor before Eckerd took the first frame on a Nyla Muskovin kill, 25-19. WSC took the lead in the second set, but Eckerd pulled within one at 17-16 following three straight points. The Wildcats responded with a 5-1 run before taking the stanza 25-20. Wayne State cruised in the second set 25-14. Eckerd and Wayne State swapped points throughout the final frame and remained tied at 22-22, but WSC capped the match with three consecutive points for the win.

- Three Tritons logged double-doubles: Stella Antypa (15 kills, 21 digs), Kinga Michalska (11 kills, 13 digs), and Gabi Jedrzejczak (41 assists, 14 digs)
- Antypa's 21 digs, Michalska's 13 digs, and Gabi Jedrzejczak's 14 digs each marked a career-high.
- Nyla Muskovin added double-digit kills with 12 as well.
- Sydney Williams added 13 digs.
- Avry Nelson added five blocks. She hit .385 with six kills as well.
- For the three-game weekend, Michalska averaged 3.36 kills and 2.73 digs per set, while Antypa averaged 3.27 kills and 3.55 digs per set, and Muskovin averaged 3.18 kills and 0.82 blocks per set with a .317 hitting percentage.
