SAINT AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Josh DiZinno and Thomas Kirby led Eckerd with a tied-for 17th place finish at the Jay Jennison Cup at The Palencia Club on Monday and Tuesday.
The Eckerd men's golf team opened with a 306 on Monday morning before trimming 13 strokes for a 293 in the afternoon. The Tritons shot a 307 in the final round for an eighth-place finish with a 906.
- DiZinno registered 26 pars and 13 birdies.
- In DiZinno's second round 68, he played the back nine at 3-under with three straight birdies on holes No. 11, 12, and 13.
- Kirby made 34 pars and nine birdies.
- Fear made 32 pars and seven birdies.
- Darby made 35 pars and three birdies.
- Campbell carded 25 pars and eight birdies.
NOTED AND NUMBERS
- DiZinno's second-round 68 was the second-lowest single-round score in the field.
- DiZinno has finished in the top 20 in both events this fall.
- Kirby's opening round 73 set a career-low.
- Holt Allison of Lenoir Rhyne won the individual title with a 9-under 207.
- Wingate won the team title with an 873.
