ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd men's basketball team dropped a Sunshine State Conference Contest at the McArthur Center on Saturday to the No. 3 Nova Southeastern Sharks, 117-70.
Eckerd jumped out to a 7-4 lead. After the Sharks took a slight edge, EC stayed within a possession of NSU until the 12:47 mark, where Nova Southeastern used a 16-4 run to take a 14-point advantage four minutes later. The Sharks closed the frame on an 11-3 run over the final three minutes to take a 56-36 lead at the break.
EC trimmed its deficit to 16 within the opening two minutes of the second half, but NSU went on a 10-2 run followed by a 12-0 stretch to take a 32-point lead with 10 minutes left. The Sharks cruised the rest of the way for a 117-70 win.
