ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Despite taking a six-point lead into the break, the Eckerd men's basketball team fell to Lynn, 89-79, following an early Knights run in the second half on Saturday at the McArthur Center.
Eckerd went on an early 10-1 run, but Lynn responded with a 10-2 run to even the score at 19-19. Eckerd pushed in front by two possessions near the 10-minute mark before the teams swapped baskets the rest of the half as EC took a 48-42 favor at intermission.
Lynn opened the second half on an 11-4 run to take a one-point edge. The teams swapped baskets until the 11-minute mark, where the Knights went on a 14-4 run to take a double-digit lead. Lynn maintained between an eight and 14-point lead the rest of the way. The Tritons cut the deficit to seven on a Mekhi Perry triple with 19 seconds left but could not make up the difference.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Goerge Kimble led Eckerd with 17 points, while Carr Thiam (13), Timothy Thompson (13), Reese White (12), and Isaiah Placide (11) rounded out the double-figure scorers.
- Kimble nearly added a double-double with nine assists.
- Eckerd outscored the Lynn bench 19-12.
