BOCA RATON, Fla. - After trailing by as many as 18 in the game, the Eckerd men's basketball team rallied to tie the score in the final minute. However, the Tritons could not push in front in the waning moments, falling to Lynn, 66-64, at the de Hoernle Sports & Culture Center on Saturday night.
Lynn and Eckerd stayed close to each other in the opening 10 minutes of the game before the Knights went on a 15-2 run to take a 15-point lead at the 3:57 mark. Lynn pushed its lead to as much as 18 before taking a 39-27 favor at intermission.
The Tritons started the second half aggressively with an 8-0 run over the opening 1:20 to pull within four. Lynn pushed back out by 10 minutes later as the Knight held a two-possession lead for most of the second half. LU held a five-point edge at the 4:50 mark. However, Eckerd limited the Knights to just a free throw over the next four-plus minutes as Isaiah Placide nailed a jumper with 33 seconds left to tie the game at 64-64. However, the Knights put in the game-winner at the seven-second mark, and the Tritons' last-second shot missed as Lynn took the game.

Eckerd returns home to host Puerto Rico Baymon on Monday at 7:30 PM. Due to damage to the McArthur Center from Hurricanes Helene and Milton, the game will be played at St. Pete College Gibbs Campus.
