BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Eckerd women's soccer team trailed late to Lynn on the road before Kendall Drummond equaled the score in the 87th minute for a 1-1 draw on Saturday night.
In the first half, both the Eckerd Tritons and Lynn Fighting Knights played a tightly contested match, with neither side managing to break through the other's defense. Eckerd pushed forward aggressively, with early shots from Freija Aflenzer and Sophia Butkovich, but EC couldn't capitalize. Defensively, Eckerd maintained its structure, countering Lynn's few attempts, which were off frame with the scoreboard remaining empty at halftime.
The second half was quiet to start, but Lynn finally scored in the 85th minute. The Tritons countered almost immediately as Kendall Drummond found the equalizer just two minutes later, assisted by Jasmine Gallo's well-placed chip into the penalty area. Despite continued attempts from both teams, including a few on-target shots by Eckerd, the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
