MELBOURNE, Fla. - The Eckerd women's soccer team battled toe-to-toe with the nationally-ranked Panthers but ultimately fell 1-0 on the road at No. 14 Florida Tech on Saturday evening.
The Panthers came out aggressively, with 12 shots inside the first 30 minutes, but Cadence Talbert turned back all eight on frame. Marta Llopis broke through in the 33rd minute to give Florida Tech a 1-0 lead. Eckerd couldn't place a shot in the half, trailing 1-0 into intermission.
The Panthers added another seven shots in the first 20 minutes of the second frame, but the Tritons kept them off the board. Eckerd finally got a shot off in the 89th minute as Morgan Wright put a shot on frame after a free kick, but the FT keeper turned it back.
