WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - The Eckerd women's soccer team fought back from a 1-0 first half deficit against Palm Beach Atlantic to draw the Sailfish 1-1 on Saturday afternoon on the road.
Despite a strong start from the Sailfish, with Palm Beach Atlantic's Isabella Reinhardt scoring in the 36th minute off an assist from Kendall Popp, Eckerd remained determined. Eckerd struggled offensively in the first half, only able to get three shots off before the break.
The Tritons created more chances in the second half, and their persistence paid off when Freija Aflenzer found the back of the net in the 60th minute, assisted by Kendall Drummond for her third goal of the season. Eckerd's defense, led by goalkeeper Cadence Talbert with eight crucial saves, held firm to prevent Palm Beach from regaining the lead. A save by Talbert in the waning minutes of the game helped the Tritons close the game with a 1-1 draw.
