FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team completed a pair of comebacks at the NSU Invitational on Saturday. After dropping the opening set in both matches, Eckerd responded to take the following three sets to beat Seton Hill (Pa.) in the morning and Bentley (Mass.) in the afternoon.
The opening set against the Griffins was tight, with neither team able to gain a strong lead. Eckerd held a 24-23 edge before the Griffins used three straight points to take the set 26-24. Eckerd responded in the next frame, taking a 15-5 favor before winning the set 25-18. EC jumped out to a 10-0 start in the third set to fuel a 25-14 set victory before taking the fourth frame 25-18.
The Tritons dropped the first set to the Falcons, 25-21. Bentley then took a 17-10 lead in the second stanza, but EC rallied with an 11-5 run to tie the score at 22-22 before taking the set 28-26. Eckerd used a 10-4 start in the third set to fuel a 25-12 set win before taking the final frame 25-21.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Nyla Muskovin led EC in the opener with 13 kills, while Seiler Hruska had 12.
- Hruska added a double-double in the finale with 14 kills and 23 digs. Both marks led the squad and were also career highs.
- Stella Antypa also posted a double-double against Bentley with 11 kills and 18 digs. She had another 11 digs in the opener.
- Aleksa Curta posted 21 assists against SHU, while Sarah Sampson had a career-high 14.
- Curta added a career-high 46 assists against the Falcons. She averaged 8.18 per set for the tournament.
- Jaida Clark posted seven blocks in each match, both career-highs, while Kalli Schoening had six in the opener and five in the finale.
- Clark averaged 1.55 blocks per set for the tournament, while Schoening averaged 1.45.
- Ashley Eck totaled 37 digs on the day, with 15 in game one and 22 in game two. Eck averaged 4.82 digs per set for the three games.
- Muskovin led the offense this weekend, averaging 3.0 kills per set, while Hruska averaged 2.91.
