EMMANUEL, Ga. - The Eckerd volleyball team used a .376 hitting percentage to sweep Erskine (SC) in the opening game before rallying for a 3-1 win over Emmanuel (Ga.) in the evening on the first day of the Emmanuel Tournament on Friday.
EC took an early jump in the opener before rolling off 10 straight points to take a sizable cushion and the set 25-14. The Tritons were close early in the second stanza but capped the set on a 16-4 run to win it 25-10 before taking the match handily in the third 25-9.
Eckerd trailed throughout most of the opening set against Emmanuel before EC used five consecutive points to take a 17-15 lead and took the set 25-23. The two teams remained within two points of each other throughout the second set before Emanuel used three straight points to take it 25-23. A 7-0 start to the third set fueled the Tritons to a 25-15 third stanza win before taking the match in the fourth 25-10.

- Seiler Hruska led EC in the opener with eight kills, while Stella Antypa and Jaida Clark had seven each.
- Ashley Eck added 13 digs and four aces in the opener and 20 digs in the finale.
- Nyla Muskovin led Eckerd in the finale with 14 kills, while Hrsuka had nine. Hruska nearly logged a double-double with 13 digs.
- Aleksa Curt added her second career double-double with 26 assists and 11 digs.
- Antypa added 15 digs in the finale.
