Tritons Fall in SSC Opener to No. 11 Eagles

DAYTONA, Fla. - After trailing early, the Eckerd women's soccer team fell to the No. 11 Embry-Riddle (Fla.) Eagles on the road by a score of 5-1 on Saturday night. 

Lauryn Mateo and Grace Foyer gave the Eagles an early 2-0 jump just over ten minutes into the game with goals in the ninth and 12th minutes, respectively.

Less than five minutes later, Sierra Hudson answered with her first goal of the year, bringing the Tritons within one. A couple of wide shots by Eckerd and Embry-Riddle kept the score at 2-1 into the break. 

Foyer extended the ERAU lead to two with her second goal of the game in the 55th minute. A pair of penalty kicks in the 56th and 66th minutes sealed the deal for the Eagles, as they took the game 5-1.
