SAINT LEO, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team took the opening two sets handily over Saint Leo. However, the Lions rallied to take the 3-2 win over the Tritons on Saturday afternoon at the Marion Bowman Activities Center.
Eckerd used a 9-2 run midway through the first set to fuel a 25-18 set win. Eckerd cruised throughout the majority of the second stanza to win 25-14. SLU jumped out to an early lead in the third stanza, but Eckerd used a 10-2 run to take a 23-22 lead. However, Saint Leo won the frame 26-24.
The teams swapped points in the fourth stanza, but the Lions capped the set on a 4-1 stretch to win 25-23. EC and SLU stayed within two points of each other throughout the fifth, but Saint Leo took the match, 15-13, on a kill.
