Bisko's Brace Lifts Tritons Over Hornets

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -  A first-half brace by Brooke Bisko lifted the Eckerd women's soccer team over Emporia State (Kan.), 3-1, at Johnson field on Sunday afternoon.

Bisko put the pressure on early, with a shot that ricocheted off the crossbar in the second minute. She continued to press on early, firing a shot to the top right corner from 30 yards out in the 14th minute to give EC the early 1-0 lead. Bisko rang again in the 22nd minute to put Eckerd ahead with a comfortable 2-0 lead.

Emporia State stifled Eckerd with a goal in the 37th minute to narrow the margin back to one. Cadence Talbert turned aside a scoring opportunity in the 45th minute to keep the Tritons' lead heading into the half.

Eckerd registered three shots in the opening ten minutes of the second half that were stopped by the Hornets' goalkeeper Mackenzi Goen. With time dwindling down, Sierra Hudson delevered a cross into the box for a diving Kendall Drummond to punch it in the top of the net, putting the Tritons up 3-1 to end the game.
