FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team breezed past Dominican (NY) in its season opener at the NSU Invitational on Friday, sweeping the Chargers in three sets.
Eckerd used five straight points to jump to an early 7-3 lead in the opening set. The Chargers pulled close at 13-10 before the Tritons closed the match on a 12-3 run to take set one 25-13. EC cruised in the second set, taking an 11-2 favor before claiming the stanza at 25-8. Eckerd made quick work in the final frame with a 14-2 start before taking the match 25-14.
