Eckerd Sets Program Records With Win at Golden Knights Orlando Invitational

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Tritons set two program records while winning their second event of the year at the Golden Knights Orlando Invitational at the Eagle Creek Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday. Eckerd ran away with the team title with a 45-stroke advantage. 

The Tritons produced rounds of 292 and 288 for a two-round total of 580, setting a new 36-hole program record. Eckerd broke the old mark set on September 26, 2022, by 12 strokes. Eckerd's final round of 288 also set a team single-round record, breaking the old mark set on October 18, 2022, by four strokes. 

All of Eckerd's roster placed in the top 10 as well. Melissa Ball and Amelie Alcantara tied for first at 4-under, while Sandra Eriksson placed tied for third. Apryl Parker tied for fifth, and Akari Miura placed tied for ninth. 

Amelie Alcantara (74-68) T1

  • Alcantara carded an eagle, eight birdies, and 21 pars. 
  • Alcantara played her last six holes in round two at 5-under. 

Melissa Ball (71-71) T1

  • Ball posted an eagle, eight birdies, and 21 pars. 
  • Ball carded an eagle on hole No. 4 on Monday.
  • Ball made the turn at 2-under in both rounds. 

Sandra Eriksson (72-75) T3

  • Eriksson carded six birdies and 24 pars. 
  • Eriksson birdied three of her last four holes on Tuesday. 

Apryl Parker (75-74) T5

  • Parker carded an eagle, four birdies, and 23 pars. 
  • Parker opened with an eagle in round two. She made the turn at 2-under.

Akari Miura (82-77) T9 

  • Miura fired two birdies and 19 pars. 

NOTES AND NUMBERS 

  • Alcantara's victory is her second of the season. She has finished in the top 10 in seven of eight events this year. 
  • Ball's victory is her first of the season. Her previous best finish was 10th. 
  • Alcantara's second-round 68 is three off her career-low and the third time this season she has shot in the 60s. 
  • Ball's 71's tie her career-low, and her two-round 142 set a career-low. 
  • Eriksson's opening round 72 ties her career-low, and her two-round 147 sets a career-low. 
  • Parker's two-round 149 set a career-low. 
  • Miura's second-round 77 set a career-low.
