Dyhre, Miura Selected WGCA All-American Scholars

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - Sofia Dyhre and Akari Miura collected academic honors from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) with a selection to their All-American Scholar Team.

Both Dyhre and Miura were named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team for the second straight year.

Dyhre, from Gothenburg, Sweden, boasts a 4.0 grade-point average in International Business. She played in all eight tournaments with a 78.7 stroke average with one top-20 finish. Dyhre was tabbed to the CSC Academic All-District Team.

Miura, from Tokyo, Japan, holds a 4.0 GPA in Biochemistry. She played in five of Eckerd's eight tournaments with an 84.5 stroke average. Miura was selected to the colleges chapter of Phi Beta Kappa in May.

A total of 1,499 women's collegiate golfers were recognized with the prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent in college athletics, with the minimum cumulative GPA being 3.50 and honorees must play in at least 50 percent of the teams scheduled contests.

Dyhre and Miura are two of 28 student-athletes within the Sunshine State Conference to receive the honor.
