CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. - The Eckerd women's golf team continued its impressive 2024-25 season with an accolade from the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA). The Tritons ranked 16th nationally in the annual WGCA Academic Top 25 Division II All-Scholar Team as released by the organization.
EC posted an astounding 3.743 team grade-point average. Eckerd had another impressive season, ending the season ranked No. 34 in the Clippd national poll. Sandra Eriksson and Melissa Ball were selected to the NCAA South Regional, thefirst time in program history two individuals have been selected.
Eckerd and Rollins were the only two SSC teams in the top-25.
The honor is the second time Eckerd has appeared in the WGCA Academic Top 25 Division II All-Scholar Team in program history, coming in fifth last year.
The award recognizes the women's collegiate golf program with the highest collective average team GPA, which includes all the team's student-athletes for the 2023-24 season.
The WGCA also announced the top 25 teams with the highest team GPA for Division I, Division II, and Division III, as well as the top 10 teams for NAIA.
