ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - Despite three close sets, the Eckerd volleyball team dropped its first home contest of the season, falling to Embry-Riddle 3-0 at the McArthur Center Friday night.
ERAU jumped to a slight lead early in the opening frame, but Eckerd rallied to take a one-point lead 12-11. The two teams swapped rallies the rest of the set before the Eagles took three straight points to take set one, 25-21. The second set followed in a similar fashion, with Eckerd holding a 17-14 advantage. However, Embry-Riddle followed with an 11-4 run to take the second frame 25-21. ERAU jumped out to a lead in the third period and led throughout, winning the match 25-22.
