Tritons Drop Senior Night Contest to No. 3 Spartans

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team fell in three sets to No. 3 Tampa, 3-0, at the McArthur Center Tuesday night on Senior night. 

After an early jump by the Spartans, Eckerd went on a 6-1 run to take a 9-8 favor. However, UT went on an 11-3 run to take a 20-13 lead before winning the set 25-18. EC held an edge over the Spartans for the first half of the second set with a four-point lead at 18-14. However, UT capped the set on a 10-4 stretch for a 25-22 win as the Spartans cruised in the final frame, 25-15.

FINAL: No. 3 Tampa 3, Eckerd 0 (25-18, 25-22, 25-15) 
RECORDS: Eckerd 21-7 (11-7 SSC), Tampa 27-1 (18-1 SSC) 

NOTES AND NUMBERS 

• Jaida Clark led Eckerd with nine kills while hitting .389 percent. 
• Stella Antypa flirted with a double-double with eight kills and nine digs. 
• Ashley Eck led the defense with 13 digs, while Seiler Hruska added 12. 
• Eckerd honored its seven seniors before the match: Stella Antypa, Aleksa Curta, Ashley Eck, Martina Melecherova, Kalli Schoening, Simone Jackson, and Tiani Bello.
