Drummond's Four-Goal Haul Leads Tritons Over Knights

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Kendall Drummond's four-goal haul catapulted the Tritons' women's soccer team to a 4-2 victory over the Lynn Fighting Knights at Johnson Field on Saturday night.

The Tritons jumped on the board early, as Jillian Doerger carried the ball down the left wing and sent a cross into the box that Brooke Bisko touched to Kendall Drummond for Drummond to net her first of the night in the 12th minute. The Tritons generated a couple more good chances in the half, with shots by Doerger and Aisling Spillane being turned aside by the Knights' goalkeeper to retire the half with Eckerd leading 1-0.

Drummond wasted no time in the second half, pressuring the keeper in the 47th minute. LU keeper Brooke Auth was far out of the net, and Drummond pressed and made a move to beat her to goal for a 2-0 Triton favor. Brigitta Pulins brought Lynn back within one on a penalty kick goal less than a minute later. Not long after, Drummond added another in the 60th minute to extend the lead back to two. Lynn knocked back with a goal in the 60th minute, shortening the distance back to one. Drummond completed the four-goal performance in the 76th minute off a feed from Sierra Hudson to lead the Tritons to the 4-2 victory.
