WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - A late equalizer by Aisling Spillane knotted the game at 2-2 as the Eckerd women's soccer team played to a draw with the Sailfish at the PBA Soccer/Lacrosse Field on Saturday night to close the regular season.
Kendall Drummond started things early for the Tritons with a goal in the 12th minute off a feed from Morgan Massie and Spillane. Late in the first, Marina Leal netted her first for the night in the 44th minute for the Sailfish to even the game heading into the break.
The Tritons had a strong second period, firing off 14 shots in the half. Despite a flurry of shots from Eckerd, Leal netted her second of the night for a 2-1 Sailfish favor. Drummond, Lara Sanchez-Rodriguez, and Spillane had chances to equalize but could not find the frame. In the 83rd minute, Spillane tied the game to end the regular season with a 2-2 draw.
