Tritons Shutout Rollins to Advance to SSC Semifinals

WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Eckerd women's soccer team advances to the SSC Semifinals for the second time in program history following a 2-0 shutout over fourth-seeded Rollins at Cahall-Sandspur Field on Monday night.

The Eckerd defense got off to a strong start as the Tars fired three shots inside the first five minutes, but EC kept them off the board. Eckerd countered five minutes later as Brook Bisko received a pass from Abby Knipp on the wing, and Bisko turned at the top of the 18, curling a shot inside the right post for the ealry lead. EC continued to pressure with another pair of shots in the half. Rollins placed two shots on frame late in the half, but Cadence Talbert turned both back. Kendall Drummond gave Eckerd a 2-0 lead just before halftime, flicking a ball off her foot to the top of the net off a corner kick.

Rollins came out of the second half aggressive and had a golden opportunity to rally in the 62nd minute following a foul in the box. However, Talbert came up with an incredible diving save to keep RC off the board. EC kept the Tars off balance the rest of the way to preserve the clean sheet.
