ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. - The Eckerd women's soccer team dropped an SSC contest to Rollins, 1-0, on a late Tars' goal at Johnson Field on Saturday night.
Eckerd had two chances on frame early as Adoria Sanders and Brooke Bisko registered shots in the eighth and 12th minutes, but their attempts were turned back. Cadence Talbert was peppered with three tries inside the first 10 minutes but turned all three back. The Tars had a close-range chance in the 20th minute, with subsequent shots on a free kick from inside the box, but Eckerd's defense fended off the tries. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first frame.
Eckerd had its best chance in the 68th minute with two shots on frame and a corner kick, but EC was unable to convert. Rollins finally broke the stalemate with Kayla Parker's goal in the 83rd minute as she beat a defender inside the 18 to top Eckerd 1-0.
