ORLANDO, Fla. - The Eckerd volleyball team used a .347 hitting clip on the way to a straight sets victory over Valdosta State (Ga.) on Friday on the first day of the annual South Region Crossover.
A 5-1 start to the match catapulted Eckerd in the first set as EC used an 8-2 run to cap the set at 25-16. The Tritons got another quick start in the second stanza and used an 11-6 stretch to end the frame 25-16. After falling behind in the final set, Eckerd used a pair of 6-0 and 6-2 runs to take the final frame 25-17.

NOTES AND NUMBERS
- Erin Garr led Eckerd with 11 kills, while Seiler Hruska rounded out the double-digit kills with 10.
- Garr led the team with a .526 percent hitting clip, while Nyla Muskovin (eight kills) hit at .500, and Hruska boasted a .348 percentage.
- Aleksa Curta added 19 assists and six digs.
- Eckerd posted a plus-.300-hitting percentage for the eighth time this season.
